WASHINGTON SECONDARY RAIL TRAIL︎︎︎
. Biking on Washington's trail from Providence's gate,
. Crossing borders, where old railroads once held fate.
. Rhode Island's charm on the Secondary Trail,
. Pedaling on memories, like a timeless tale.

. Entering Connecticut on the old railroad grade,
. Trestle trail whispers of journeys made.
. Wheels spin, a bridge 'twixt past and present's braid,
. Biking through history, on the trails surveyed.

The Washington Secondary Trail begins just a few miles to the West of Providence. As the cycle trail leaves suburban Providence, it transitions into the Trestle Trail, which is surrounded by various wildlife refuges. Crossing the border from Rhode Island to Connecticut, this becomes the Old Railroad Grade Trail that ends in Mossup.

Providence is a great starting point that can be reached from Boston within a little more an hour for just $10 roundtrip using the MBTA commuter rail weekender pass. Trains arrive and depart about every hour and a half from South Station.
