The Broke Ride Club: Boston Chapter brings you and your friends an affordable means of experiencing sublime sites, smells and sounds beyond the boundaries of the city through a curated selection of weekend bike rides that have been optimized for their appealing scenic qualities, convenience and cost.

The BRC is committed to doing the most with the least. All of the collected routes are intended to be accessible and enjoyable for cyclists of any skill level with the most basic equipment, whether that be a road bike, single speed or folding bike.

. Through the Emerald Necklace, a verdant ride,
. Olmsted Park's beauty, where dreams reside.
. Pedaling from the city's heart so true,
. To Needham's charm, where the Charles River's hue.

. Wheels on the trail, by parkways wide,
. Nature's palette, a seamless guide.
. Kayaking on the Charles, a watery spree,
. A journey of joy, where nature and rider meet.


The first half of the ride out to the  Boat Dock in Needham passes through the Emerald Necklace, Olmstead Park, and the Arnold Arboretum before turning west towards Millenium Park at the Charles River. This route is recommended during the summer season when the Paddle Boston facility is open and available to rent kayaks to further explore the Charles River by water.
