. On this rail trail journey, where wonders belong.
A long and rough route that folows the fragmented remnants of the Massachusetts Central and Ware River Rail Trails that cover alot of unpaved, less well maintained trails running from North / South from Winchendon to Rutland.
To get to the start of the trail, use the $10 MBTA weekender commuter rail pass to travel from Boston North Station to Rutland Train Station. From there, the trail head can be reached by cycling along surface roads out of the city.
After completing this section of the rail tril in Winchendon, there is another stretch of road to Fitchburg, where the MBTA commuter rail will return to Boston.
