EAST BAY RAIL TRAIL ︎︎︎
. Beneath Providence's sunlit skies, wheels turn,
. East Bay Rail Trail, where dreams discern.
. Along the river's dance, a rhythmic ride,
. Narragansett Bay whispers, a cycling guide.
. Bristol beckons, a coastal tale unfolds,
. Pedals paint stories, as the journey molds.
. Rhode Island's charm in each passing view,
. On the trail of freedom, where horizons brew.
The East Bay Rail Trail leaves Providence and follows the Eastern edge of Providence River as it becomes Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Leaving behind the industrialed waterfront surrounding the city, the cycling path passes through several bird watching sanctuaries and marshes on the way to the small town Bristol.
Providence is a great starting point that can be reached from Boston within a little more an hour for just $10 roundtrip using the MBTA commuter rail weekender pass. Trains arrive and depart about every hour and a half from South Station.
